What to expect from Goat Yoga Therapy?

Time will be about 1 1/2 hours

About our baby goats: They were born from a mom who had 4 white male baby goats which is very unusual (usually give birth to 1 or 2) on February 2018. Mommy goat was not able to feed her babies so we had to bottle feed them. They were so small and weak and not sure if they would make it. Three are left and they are hardy and active youngsters now. Their names are; Dodo, George, and Momo.

What to bring: yoga mat; blanket or towel; dress for weather with comforable clothes

Where will be doing our Goat Yoga class? Outside on the grass or in a tent on our beautiful Utopia Farm and Retreat. In cooler weather in a barn nicely set up for events.

Who: For all ages and experience: Goat Yoga Therapy will be very gentle and easy going for people of all ages with no experience necessary. The teaching is based on Kundalini Yoga. Just do what you can and listen to your body for what you cannot do.

First of all the star of the class will be the gaby goats! The goal of our Goat Yoga Therapy will be therapy for you to forget all your problems.  When you enter the class there will be a basket that you will drop an item (could be stick, stone, glasses, keys…) to symbolize dropping your problems by the door. There will be another basket for you to turn off your phone and place for no distractions. Please pick up a cup of feed for the goats by the entrance to feed the baby goats. Set up your space for yoga.

What happens during the class? Of course you cannot do a serious yoga with baby goats jumping all over. So just go with the flow and if a baby goat jumps on you, wants to snuggle or feed from you, just stop and play for a while. There will be lots of opportunity for interaction and play time with our baby friendly goats. Baby goats (kids) are naturally very cute, friendly, social, and curious. Cherish the special time to laugh and let go! It is your special. That may also mean that poop or pee from the baby goats. We will have paper towels and bins close by. Unfortunately we are not able to potty train goats. We hope you don’t mind too much, Sorry!

At the end of the class: You will have lots of opportunity to take your phone for pictures with our baby goats. There will be yogi tea and snacks served. And a big group hug to say goodbye and bless our baby goats. Pick up your belongs and leave with a grateful feeling to send to others and make your day wonderful!

About the Teacher: Vera Del Vecchio and guest teachers

We Guarantee Lots of Fun, Smiles and Laughter Therapy!

Vera Del Vecchio is a Certified Kundalini Yoga Instructor since 2006. Vera’s spiritual name is Guru Durbar Kaur that means the princes who dwells from darkness to light in the royal court. She also runs a popular Airbnb Super Host “Wow Utopia Box Car Cottage” and has a business “Healthy Earth” to create a healthy earth in our soils, water, composting and all life on earth. Her indoor hot tub, pool and land is chemical free using natural micro hero methods. She also is a wild food, herbalist and fermenting enthusiast and teacher.

Last year she helped to take care a one of the twins that were born at a neighbours farm. One of the twins was a male was very weak and was bottle fed since the mother was unable to nurse. Eventually the male goat did die.

Vera took the other twin that was a female called Zoe to care for. Vera took Zoe home and presented Zoe all snuggled up in a blanket to her husband John and said “Zoe’s mom will not feed her. Can we keep her please?” John was a bit surprised to see that it was a goat, but said ok. It was winter so Zoe stayed in their home in a cardboard box to sleep and loose around the house. They just cleaned up after Zoe and realized that house training was not easy or possible. On days Zoe would walk around outside on their 62 acred property in the snow and in the soon spring weather. Zoe was so sweet following, jumping and playing. Zoe was popular with our guests and friends loved to play and walk her too. They also had a leash and took Zoe on outings. People would stop and ask “is that a goat?” And the dogs would be so curious to sniff and follow Zoe wondering “what is it?”

Zoe would be such a joy to watch all the new discoveries for her. She loved to snuggle and jump in our laps and follow us around everywhere. Zoe was even part of Vera and John’s small wedding. Zoe was the hit of the wedding all decked out with ribbons and flowers around her neck and tried to eat the bouquet!

It kind of came to an end when Zoe one morning jumped out of her box in the house and came upstairs on our bed to pee and poo! And Zoe loved to eat our flowers and vegetable garden too! Time to go back to her farm with her family of goats and other animals in the barn.

When Vera did her yoga practice, Zoe would come up and climb and snuggle beside her. It gave Vera such a sweet joy, calmness and laughter to experience such a closeness with a goat. Vera was going through some depression on some things in her life at the time and this little goat brought such gift of love and therapy that took her mind out of any problems. Vera felt blessed for all the wonderful things in her life. Vera felt that this little goat, Zoe made her happy!

Vera heard about goat yoga. With her personal experience, Vera thought she could pass this therapy and laughter to others to share. She is now starting “Goat Yoga Therapy”!

We hope that you too can come and share these special baby goats to play and bring laughter and joy in your heart!

With her experience, Vera wants to pass this therapy and laughter to others and share “Goat Yoga Therapy”!
